The 2017 Poujeaux is soft, fruity and forward, all qualities that are best enjoyed over the near and medium term. Super-ripe red berry, spice and floral notes are all fused together in this racy, open-knit Moulis. Above all else, the 2017 is beautifully persistent, deep and long. Frost took out some of the lower lying parcels. As a result, the wine is heavier on Cabernet Sauvignon and emerges from the core parcels on the estate. In 2017, Poujeaux is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot, which is more Cabernet than in the past, a result of frost damage.
