Luciano Sandrone

Luciano has built up a top quality wine estate from its small-scale beginnings in 1978. He now produces 100 000 bottles of some of most sought-after wines in the world.

His Barolos have splendid complexity and terrific breadth on the palate but also balanced and harmonious with great length and a fine tannic backbone.

He focuses on painfully low yields in the vineyard and subjects his wines to a relatively short maceration period in the cantina. Wines see around 10% new oak, are made in a style that makes them easy to appreciate in their youth, they still possess plenty of structure and power that makes them good candidates for long ageing.

Sandrone’s Barbera and Dolcetto are also rated at some of the best in the region. The wines have ripe fruit, fine tannins, texture and superb freshness from the high altitude which it derives from.
