Domaine de Montirius

One of the best Property in the southern Rhone region. Christine and Eric Saurel represent the fifth generation to work the 57 hectares estate in the heart of Vacqueyras. Montirius has been run on organic line since 1990 and Biodynamic since 1999. Strict Dynamic principles involve not only a complete respect for the environment by the elimination of all pesticides, but also a requirement to be in tune with the solar calendar which influences the best time to perform all vineyard task.

The maturing is done exclusively in concrete vats without interior coating, and in bottles, to allow the full expression of the fruit. Wines are deeply scented and flavored with Provence spice and structure. These are elegant wines with unusual finesse for the region, possessing minerality and length.
