A 0.50-hectare monopole of the Domaine, the 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Tonton Marcel 1er Cru has the finest nose of Camille Giroud’s whites, yellow flowers infusing the citrus fruit mixed with orange blossom and white peach slithers. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and pear cordial on the entry, showing fine weight and depth. It would benefit from more tension on the finish; nevertheless, I find this delicious.
